Heart Land Ferry will introduce a new car ferry into the Okushiri-Esashi/Setana routes on May 1, 2017.

Heart Land Ferry's Avrora Okushiri was sold to Cokaliong Shipping Line, a Filipino ferry operator in September 2016. In May 2017, she will be replaced by a new car ferry and delivered.

On January 27, 2017, Heart Land Ferry's Calanthe Okushiri (3,650gt) took the water at Naikai Zosen Setoda shipyard. She is set to enter service on May 1, 2017.

On October 12, 2017, a minor fire broke out in a kitchen for crewmember's saloon on the Heart Land Ferry's Feelease Soya, which was moored in the port of Wakkanai.

On October 26, 2018, Heart Land Ferry announced that it will launch a new car ferry (4,250gt, LOA: 96.5m, Beam: 15.0m, Speed: 19.1knots, Pass: 495 (550 in summer), 8ton truck: 21 or 53 cars) on the Wakkanai-Rishiri island/Rebun island routes in February 2020. The Feelease Soya (3,551gt, 2001) will be replaced.

Sapporo-based Heart Land Ferry told local government bodies on January 21, 2019 that it will close the Okushiri-Setana route (seasonal route).

A new ferry for Heart Land Ferry which is set to enter service on the Reshiri & Rebun islands routes, will take the water at Naikai Zosen Setoda shipyard on September 27, 2019.

Heart Land Ferry's "Amapola Soya" (4,250gt) took the water at Naikai Zosen's Setoda shipyard in Onomichi, Hiroshima prefecture on September 27, 2019. She is set to enter service on the Rishiri/Rebun routes on February 4, 2020.

Heart Land Ferry's Feelease Soya (3,551gt) will retire on October 31, 2019.

On November 7, 2019, Heart Land Ferry's Feelease Soya (3,551gt) left Wakkanai in the snow for Cebu island, the Philippines.
