WEAK POINTS
(Fuji Maru)
The waste of open deck space and poor maintenance. The deck
furniture is plastic and utilitarian. The lighting is too bright,
which also increases the noise level, and so there is little
ambience.
(Nippon Maru)
The cheap plastic deck furniture is difficult to keep clean and
looks really poor and unkempt. The seats in the theater are
mostly in-line and should be staggered; they are also very plain
and utiliyarian, and not particularly comfortable.
(Orient Venus)
The ship does not really cater to individual passengers well. The
decor is rather plain in many public rooms. The crew-to-passenger
ratio is quite poor, but typical of seminar-intensive ships.
(Pacific Venus)
There are few cabins with private balcony. The open walking
promenade decks are bare steel (rubber-coated); teak would be
more desirable.
(Asuka)
There is no butler service in the Asuka Club suites. The forward
staircase is utilitarian and quite plain. The ship is in need of
further refurbishment and upgrading in some areas in order to
compete effectively in the international marketplace.
