NORWEGIAN WIND IN JAPAN
PORT OF MURORAN
Norwegian Wind
Norwegian Wind (50,760 G/T) and Regal Princess (69,845 G/T) came to Muroran, Hokkaido, Japan on October 7, 2001. But I have seen Regal Princess before. So I show you Norwegian Wind on this page.
NORWEGIAN WIND
Bow
Her former name is "Windward" and sister ship is Norwegian Dream (ex-Dreamward).
If you are a ship enthusiast, you probably know "MTN". Norwegian Wind has Internet Cafe, of course.
Life Boats
This ship was stretched in 1998 by inserting a 40m midsection. The work was completed at the Lloyd Werft Shipyard (Germany). Converted to accommodate Freestyle Cruising in 2001 with new carpeting, upholstery and several remodeled bars and restaurants.
Tender Boats
Funnel
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is a pioneer of cruise lines in the Caribbean Sea. But it was purchased by Star Cruises in 2000.

Gangway
NCL has responded to the need for increased security by requiring passengers to provide identification prior to boarding a ship and X-ray inspection. I saw many plain-clothes policemen (maybe) at the pier. A lot of people fears the large number of passengers on a cruise ship could present a target for terrorist attack.
Do you identify this truck? This truck belongs to Shin Nihonkai Ferry. Shin Nihonkai Ferry is one of the biggest ferry operator in Japan.
Foods. Potatos, tomatos...

iWeak Pointsj The room service menu is still poor and could be improved. The outdor stairways are numerous and confusing. The carpeted steel interior stairwell steps are quite tinny. When the ship was "stretched" it reduced the amount of outdoor space per passenger, and this is reflected in increased density around the pools. There simply are not enough public rooms to absorb the increase in passengers well.
